PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. -- The 33rd Annual Gingerbread Extravaganza, hosted by Treatment Homes, went virtual this year. Winners were recently announced via Facebook Live.
Sherwood Elementary 1st grader, Elizabeth Turner, won third place in the Holiday Coloring Contest. Congratulations Elizabeth!
Students in pre-K through fifth grade received coloring sheets from Treatment Homes a few weeks ago. The finished coloring sheets were sent to Treatment Homes by December 4 to be judged by the art department at Parkview Arts and Science High School. There were three categories: PreK - 1st Grade, 2nd - 3rd Grade and 4th - 5th Grade.
Gingerbread house kits were also available for purchase and a decorating competition was also held. Prizes were given in each of the following categories:Youth: Grades K-3; Grades 4–6; Grades 7-12; Adult; & Team. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, winners were selected by the number of social media likes received.
All proceeds from the Gingerbread Extravaganza will benefit Treatment Homes, Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides therapeutic foster care for children with emotional or behavioral problems.
